All The Single Spoonies... All The Single Spoonies... All The Single Spoonies... Put Your Hands Up....

As we move out of the month of January into the month of February, we are bombarded with messages of Valentine's Day being "The Day Of Love" and celebrating couples.

But what if you are single? Moreover, what if you are a single spoonie, with limited financial means or physical barriers, that prohibits a person from celebrating self-love and self-care on Valentine's Day???

As a single spoonie myself, I often contend with chronic pain, flare ups and pervasive fatigue, and Singledom fun on Valentine's Day seems a bit out of reach... Or is it??? There are some ways that are both financially and physically feasible to celebrate self-love and self-care on Valentine's Day.

Here are a few ideas, as a single spoonie, how we can self-indulge on Valentine's Day, that I am now dubbing as, "Spoonie Valen'mines' Day!

1.) If you have subscriptions for streaming services, you can host a "Watch party" on Valen'mines' Day with your family, your best friend, or even fellow Spoonies. The following streaming services offer "Watch Party" capabilities:

* Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video, which have their own built-in watch party features that let you watch and chat with your friends at the same time.

* Disney Plus has a watch party feature that supports up to 7 people

* HBO Max can be streamed with friends using browser extensions like Teleparty or Scener.

* Sling TV has a watch party feature that allows you to watch live TV with up to three other people.
Twitch, which has a watch party feature that lets you stream Amazon Prime Video content with your followers.

2.) For those Spoonies who like playing multi-player games, here are a list of free online games you can play with family, friends and fellow spoonies:

* Among Us (Mobile)
* Cards Against Humanity
* Codenames Online
* Skribbl.io
* Squabble
* Spyfall
* Telegram Werewolf
* Quizarium on Telegram
* Board Game Arena
* Golf Battle
* CardzMania
* Scrabble Go
* Quiz Up
* Risk

3.) Host a "decadence" virtual party via zoom, facetime, or Facebook messenger video call, with a group of your friends or fellow spoonies, where you can chat via video while enjoying your favorite decadent snacks or desserts.

So those are a few ideas to get this discussion started on how Single Spoonies can enjoy Valen'mines' Day!

What are your ideas to indulge in Spoonie self-love and enjoy Valen'mines' Day? Please share in the comments below!

P.S. After reading this topic headline, how many of you started singing in your head "All The Single Ladies" by Beyonce?

  1. Thank you! I'm so happy you sang the song in your head! I wanted to end the post on a fun “note” 🎶
