How to create your SHN account

How do you get started? It’s so simple and easy! Here are the steps you need to take:

Step 1: Create your account

To get started with a free SHN account, go to our homepage, socialhealthnetwork.com. In the top right of the page, click Log in. If prompted, create a username and password.

Don’t forget to bookmark this link so you can easily access the site at any time!

Step 2: Build your SHN profile

Here’s the fun part where you get to share more about yourself, your health leadership journey, and why you’re here! Here are some things you can consider including in your SHN profile:

  • Where you live
  • What health condition(s) you advocate for
  • If you’re a patient with a health condition or are a caregiver to someone with a health condition
  • Your favorite social media channel and why
  • Links to your social media accounts, LinkedIn, email, or other ways people can connect with you

As you grow and evolve your health leadership skills, you can always make changes and update your profile to reflect your journey by clicking “Edit my profile” on your Profile Page.

Step 3: Introduce yourself to the SHN community

Once you’ve built your profile, introduce yourself to the SHN community on our forums! Share a little about yourself and why you’re here. It’s a great way to begin meeting other Health Leaders, share information, and get involved in SHN opportunities.

Step 4: Start taking free SHN courses and activities to earn points

The Social Health Network is not only an amazing place to connect with other Health Leaders and build your influence – it's also a place where you can learn and grow.

Powered by an online platform called Influitive, SHN offers free activities, courses, and programs that help build your expertise in health leadership.

Start by logging into your SHN account. From your profile, click the “Go to my dashboard,” located on the right-hand side of the page. This will take you to the Influitive platform.

From your dashboard, you will see the following tabs at the top left of the page:

  • Home
  • Activities
  • Rewards
  • Leader Portal

By clicking the tab titled “Activities,” you’ll see all the available activities that SHN offers for free. This includes things like:

By completing activities, you earn points to redeem rewards.

To find all the different types of rewards you have access to, simply click the tab titled “Rewards.” SHN offers rewards such as:

  • Mentoring sessions
  • LinkedIn recommendations
  • Health Union Conference Support Program
  • Social Media Kit
  • $100 donation to a charity of your choice
  • $100 e-gift card
  • SHN swag – think branded coffee mugs, beanies, notebooks, and more!
