Endorsements are now open in the 6th Annual WEGO Health Awards.
So, what does that mean for you, WEGO Health Nominee?
Take a moment, and read the following, as it will help to give you an understanding of what’s to come over the next few months. We’re extremely excited to head into this phase and are looking to you to keep the momentum going!
Nominations
First things first, nominations WILL remain open until endorsements close midnight, September 1st, 2017. At this time, both nominations and endorsements will stop.
You may be thinking, “but I thought nominations were over on July 7th, 2017?”
And you’d be right. They were supposed to be! But we’ve decided to keep them open to ensure that all who deserve to be nominated can be nominated.
So make sure no Patient Leader is left out and honor them with a nomination today!
Endorsements
Endorsements in this year’s WEGO Health Awards take place between July 10th, 2017 and midnight on September 1st, 2017.
You can think of endorsements like voting. It allows us to bring a “People’s Choice” aspect into the WEGO Health Awards. The three nominees in each WEGO Health Award category with the highest number of endorsements will automatically become finalists.
However, endorsements are not the only way to become a finalist!
Our distinguished judging panel will select two additional nominees, based off the remaining nominees in that WEGO Health Award category, to become finalists.
The five finalists within each category will be judged, and the winner will be presented at our WEGO Health Awards Ceremony October 11- 13th, 2017. Each of the 16 WEGO Health Award winners will be invited to be honored at a live WEGO Health Awards Ceremony dinner at the 5th Annual Patient Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC October 23-24, 2017.
There are two easy ways that an individual can endorse you:
First, they can navigate to your nominee profile on the WEGO Health Awards site. Under your picture, on the right-hand side of the page, is an “endorse” button. Clicking this button will submit an endorsement.
Or, they can endorse you through your WEGO Health Awards endorsement badge. We’ve created a badge for you to easily put on your website or blog. This will allow your followers to endorse you without ever having to leave your site! To learn more about this badge, please read “Accessing Your WEGO Health Awards Badge” in the endorsement kit.

WEGO Health Awards Ceremony
The WEGO Health Awards Ceremony will take place virtually from October 11th, 2017 to October 13th, 2017. The 3-day Ceremony will kick off by our Thunderclap! (Have you joined yet? If not, click here to do so!)
During these three days, we’ll host virtual events and activities to bring together the Patient Leader Network. Each day will conclude with the announcement of WEGO Health Award winners.
Come September, we will release the schedule of events. Stay tuned for another action packed WEGO Health Awards Ceremony!
5th Annual Patient Advocacy Summit
This year we’re ecstatic to announce our partnership with World Congress on the 5th Annual Patient Advocacy Summit.
The 5th Annual Summit will feature expert speakers representing FDA, PPAL, BIO, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, as well as Patient Leaders. More speakers and a detailed agenda will be announced soon.
The Summit will also feature, live and in-person for the first time, the Annual WEGO Health Awards that honor exceptional patient advocates, influencers and experts who make a difference in the lives of patients and caregivers. This year, winners will receive awards across 16 different categories, ranging from Lifetime Achievement to Healthcare Collaborator: Company. The 16 WEGO Health Awards winners will be invited to the awards ceremony dinner which will take place October 23rd.
