HAWMC Day 12 – Hindsight

Today’s Prompts

  • If you could go back in time and talk to yourself (or your loved one) on the day of diagnosis, what would you say?
  • What have you learned about being a patient/caregiver that has surprised you most?

Hindsight is 20/20. It would be wonderful to be able to go back with the insight and knowledge you have acquired over the years to the day when you first received your diagnosis. With what you’ve learned through talking with others, or your own experiences, what would you say to your past self?

What about a loved one?  As a caregiver, what meaningful thoughts would you express to your friend or family members at this turning point in their lives?  It could be uplifting, informative, or relate purely to the emotions you were feeling that day.   Life is full of surprises.   What has surprised you the most in the time since your diagnosis that you think would have liked to know in the beginning?
