Well, everyone – it’s now the second week of National Blog Posting Month! The first week was a great success and full of such great energy. It’s been inspiring to see just how creative everyone has been with the prompts and how participants have made NHBPM their own, valuable to their individual missions, blogs, or communities. I’ve sincerely enjoyed every post I’ve read and I hope you have too. (I especially love how many new blogs I’ve gotten the chance to read and how many new, unique writing voices I’ve gotten to experience.)
How has NHBPM been for you so far? Tell us here in a comment, over on our Facebook page, or tweet us. And without further ado – let’s keep the momentum going and start Day 7….
Case of the Mondays.
Mondays get a bad rap – the weekend is over and the new week of work begins. So let’s indulge the gloomy Monday (even if it’s sunny where you are) and write about things that make us less-than-excited to get out of bed.
For today’s NHBPM post – Write about something that gets you down, burns you out, or makes you sad. Purge it in a blog post. No matter what health condition you live with or what responsibilities come with caring for yourself or a loved one – or challenges of being a Health Activist – there are some things that we’d really rather live without. What issues come up with people in your health communities? What stigma are you just tired of having to deal with? Anything that comes to mind will do. Free write for 10 minutes or write a quick bulleted list.
But before you get caught up and have a bad day because of this post (we certainly don’t want that – though we all know how easily one bad thing can snowball into a whole collection of bad things) – let’s turn these posts around. Tell Tuesday why you’re ready for it. Tell us how you deal with the toughest things on your plate or just make the most of the responsibilities that sometimes overwhelm you. What are the things you love most about your community that keep you blogging even when you’re burned out?
Participating in #NHBPM? Tweet us a link to your Day 7 post and paste a link in the comments here or on the WEGO Health Facebook page – so we can share your posts!
